The Becoming American Museum Exhibit opened on March 31, 2012 in Yuba City. It is the first permanent exhibit narrating the story of Punjabi immigration to America. Courtesy of the Punjabi American Heritage Society.

Yuba City’s Punjabi American Heritage Society was formed in 1993 to promote cross-cultural understanding and to help young Punjabis connect to their cultural roots.  The society is a secular, nonprofit organization.

In 2012, the Punjabi American Heritage Society Museum Committee held a grand opening of its Becoming American Exhibit in the Sutter County Museum.   To learn more about the museum, go to www.punjabipioneers.com or visit the museum in person.
