Curator & Historian

Nicole Ranganath, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Middle East/South Asia Studies Program at UC Davis.  She is the curator and creator of the UC Davis Pioneering Punjabis Digital Archive in collaboration with Yuba City’s Punjabi American Heritage Society and the broader Punjabi community.  She is also the director/writer/producer of “Jutti Kasoori” (Walking into the Unknown), a documentary of the history of women in California’s Sikh community.  She teaches courses on the Punjabi diaspora, South Asia cinema, the 1947 partition, and comparative histories of the Middle East and South Asia regions.
