Gian Kaur Bains

Gian Kaur Bains (January 23-1928 – December 8, 2018) is affectionately remembered in the community for her kindness and generosity of spirit.  Together with her many friends, she performed years of seva at Yuba City’s Gurdwara.  

She was born in the village of Piplanwala in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India.  Her mother passed away when Gian was a young girl, and she was raised by her father and aunt.  After marrying Bakhtawar Singh Bains at a young age, she settled in Yuba City in December 1949.  She called Yuba City home for the rest of her life until she passed away seventy years later.

Gian Kaur raised five children: Ajab, Chinty, Balbir, Jaswinder, and Avtar.
